What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese method of healing that uses cosmic energy to balance your body and mind. This gentle technique involves a series of hand positions placed carefully on your body to free energy blockages with the intention of clearing or realigning life force. During a Reiki session subtle energy shifts take place, awakening each cell and allowing the body to surrender to complete relaxation. If your energy is balanced and you are free from energetic patterns that are "weighing you down", you are better equipped to support and sustain your happiness and health.

 

This may sound really "Woo-woo" to you, you are not alone. This is definitely not something that was covered in your high school biology class. But the truth is that Reiki works, and it is becoming more and more available in "regular" places. It is an excellent addition to your self-care routine, or as a complementary therapy to traditional medicine. If you're hesitant or on the fence, that's ok! I'd love to be the one to introduce you to its amazing wellness benefits.

What is Holy Fire Reiki?

Holy Fire Reiki is a new form of Reiki that was introduced about three years ago by The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). It is both powerful and gentle and provides purification, healing, empowerment, and guidance. Holy Fire energy is noticeably more refined and comes from a higher level of consciousness.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

What should I expect?

Each person's experience with Reiki is different, but some common experiences clients report are heat in the practitioner's hands, subtle pulsations, floating/drifting, and waves of pulsation throughout the body. Though the experience of Reiki differs for each person, it is common for people to fall into a deep, meditative, or dream-like state. Besides the immediate experience, you may notice changes that unfold as the day goes on such as strong digestion, a sense of centeredness, and deeper sleep at night. Reiki is done with the client fully clothed lying on a treatment table. Blankets and pillow are provided for comfort.

How often should I receive Reiki?
How often we recommend Reiki depends on your response to the first session. People who don't have a strong reaction during their first Reiki session usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue. Pain/illness may heal quicker and stress levels can decrease significantly when receiving Reiki regularly. Generally I would recommend a series of 3-4 Reiki sessions over a period of four weeks. This series gives you time to evaluate what benefits you are receiving from our sessions. Following the series, based on your ailments and lifestyle, we work together to figure out a maintenance routine that best suits your needs.
